Later, she got the role in The Prophet's Game and in 2000, she played the role of Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. 2002 saw her making two more movies, Hansel & Gretel where she played Gretel, and Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, where she played Alexandra, the President's daughter. Momsen took time off from the acting scene for a few years and returned to the big screen in Doubting Thomas, Saving Shiloh and Underdog.
